Our school is in Rafina, in the region of Attica Greece. It is a public school and our students are aged between 15 and 18 years old. The number of students is about 350, whereas the number of teachers is about 30. It is a public General Lyceum. During the last five years we lead an environmental education team of students, in which they participate about 15-20 students each year. Lately, the environmental group has been dealing with food. Specifically with organic farming, food overconsumption, and the waste produced by it. As an environmental team, we have come to understand the importance of food, not by reading leaflets or manuals, but through our own activities. Although the group was rather small, we were all very passionate about the subject and, as a result, we managed to work as a team of fellow nature lovers and not strictly as a group of students guided by their teacher.

In the meantime, we’ve built two games (locationbased games for learning purposes) that are actually an attempt to allow others to understand the things we discovered during our «journey.» In addition, we hope that this will be the first step towards protecting them incredible, but unknown, miracles. This is what I have gained from the program: the determination to find solutions to current problems on my own, to take responsibility, and to react.
