The students from the IES ‘El Bohío’ in Cartagena (Spain) prepared this nice video showing how they went into the school laboratory and learnt how to measure the content of salt in a food sample applying a chemistry analytical procedure with silver nitrate and a color indicator.

As part of the GOODFOOD learning unit and activities related to the Nutritious and Healthy Foods theme, some of the students from the IES El Bohío (Cartagena, Spain) went into the chemistry laboratory to set up and implement a simple extraction protocol with acetone used to measure the quantity of fat in different foods.
The students from IES Monte Miravete (Torreaguera, Spain) went to the laboratory to learn how to determine the salt quantity in different foods.
As part of the GOODFOOD learning unit and activities related to the Nutritious and Healthy Foods theme, some of the students from the IES Monte Miravete (Murcia, Spain) went into the chemistry laboratory to set up and implement a titration protocol used to estimate the quantity of salt in different foods (e.g. crisps). Within this project, the students also had the opportunity to learn about the impact of a high salt intake on the diet.

This team of young girl students from Monte Miravete presents a great experimental activity they have carried out within the GOODFOOD project to show the high content of sugars present in the soft drinks that we consume too habitually. They cannot explain it any better, we should avoid or reduce the consumption of sugar !!!!
