The first face-to-face meeting of the GOODFOOD project partners took place in Murcia on the 27th and 28th of June 2022. The meeting was held at CEBAS where the partners had the opportunity to meet each other.
After presentations, a session of photos of all the participants, and the revision of some project management issues, the partners gathered and went through a number of important issues for the progress of the project.
Demetris Mylonas from PRISMA presented the results of the first analysis of the results of the questionnaires responded by students and teachers from the three countries. This was followed by long discussions about the preparation of the individual reports from each country that will be later used to elaborate the final international report summarising this first activity of the Project (PR1). Overall, we wanted to explore the views of both, the students and teachers from schools in Spain, Italy and Greece regarding the issues of sustainable production and consumption of healthy foods as well as of the implementation of STEAM teaching approaches for the learning process.
Next, and also as part of the PR1 activity of the GOODFOOD project, the representative partners from CNR-IBE (Francesca Ugolini) presented the first steps of the work conducted to develop the Learning Methodology protocol that will be implemented by the participant schools.
Several aspects related with the methodology including the formation of Focus Groups within each school and the different tasks and meetings that this FG should develop were thoroughly discussed and will be considered for the preparation of the Methodology document.
During the second day of the meeting, the partners visited the CEBAS Institute and the Department of Food Science and Technology where the Dr. Rocío García Villalba explained the type of equipment and jobs conducted in the laboratories. In addition, she also presented to the participants the development of the GOODFOOD website.
The team from MAIEUTIKÉ presented the results of the logo competition as well as the project and ideas for the final handbook of recipes that will be developed at the end of the GOODFOOD project.
The participant teachers from the Secondary School in Murcia (Monte Miravete) also presented some of their previous experiences with similar projects and their students.
Overall, the meeting was very successful and the partners also had the opportunity to share some nice meals and visit the city of Murcia.
Next time it will happen in Athens!!!
